Daily Wear and Washing
Tencel fabric is light and smooth, making it suitable for summer clothing. However, due to its fine fibers, it is prone to wrinkling and snagging. Avoid contact with rough surfaces, such as backpack straps and jewelry, to prevent damage. When washing, it is recommended to use a neutral detergent, keep the water temperature below 30°C, and use the gentle cycle or hand wash to minimize mechanical damage. Tencel fabrics are also prone to shrinkage, so check the label before washing for the first time and pre-shrink if necessary.
Drying and Storage
Tencel fabrics are highly hygroscopic, so avoid prolonged exposure to the sun to prevent brittle fibers and discoloration. It's recommended to lay out flat to dry in a cool, well-ventilated area, or hang on a clothesline, but avoid direct sunlight. If ironing is necessary, use a low temperature (below 110°C) and place a thin cloth under the garment to prevent direct heat exposure and damage to the fabric. When storing, Tencel clothing should be kept dry to prevent mold and mildew from growing in damp environments. Store folded in a well-ventilated wardrobe, away from chemical repellents such as mothballs.
Special Care
If stains occur on Tencel fabric, treat the stain immediately to prevent it from penetrating the fibers. For stubborn stains, use a detergent specifically formulated for cellulose fibers, but test on an inconspicuous area first to prevent fading. Furthermore, when mixing Tencel fabrics with other materials, it's recommended to wash them separately to prevent pilling or deformation due to friction.
